French police dot the i's

The French police will monitor compliance with the rules as indicated in the exemptions.

French waivers have long been remarked:

the convoy leader must speak and read the French language or, failing that, be accompanied by a person who speaks and reads French and is able to communicate with him.

This simply means that the transport manager (in this case the driver) must be able to speak and read the French language. If this is not the case, he must be accompanied by a person who speaks and reads French and can communicate with the driver.

Currently, many transports (especially on and around highways) are stopped and checked for this.
